17th ECM NEWS Patronage of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports

Dear colleagues,

Please let me remind you that the Early-bird Registration deadline is May 31, 2015. All important dates for the 17th ECM have been listed on our web page.

I am pleased to announce that the 17th ECM has obtained patronage of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.

The Invitation to the 17th European Carabidologist Meeting has been published also in Entomologia Croatica 18 (1-2): 85-86.

The organiser of the 17th ECM receiving a carabid beetle sculpture at the 16th ECM closing ceremony in 2013 in Prague (Pavel Saska at the left and Lucija Šerić Jelaska at the right side of the photo). The sculpture is work of Tale Vermeulen from the Netherland and was handed to the ECM organisers in 2009, at the 14th ECM in Netherland. Carabus arvensis was used as a model. The above side is made of copper and the rest of the zinc. The sculpture will be handed to the next organiser in Primošten, Croatia.
